  • All visitors will be checked Temperature during the pre-trekking briefing following the standard operating procedures.
  • All other workers including wardens, rangers must be checked for and tested for COVID-19 19, this is a regular check to all safety for all. Negative covid19 test results taken 72 hours back is a must-have for everyone visiting the primates
  • The briefing shall be done in groups of 8 per gorilla family compared to before where the briefing was done to the entire visitors of the tracking sector.
  • A minimum number of 6 travelers are allowed to visit a chimpanzee for chimpanzee trekking
  • While with the primates, maintain a distance of 10 meters apart and ensure social distance away from each other.
  • Primate trekking is limited to ages 16 and above and only restricted for a minimum of 1 hour with the primates.
  • In case of any symptomatic signs such as headache, flue, high temperatures, and cough, one will not be allowed to see the primates.
  • After trekking back from the gorillas, chimpanzees, Tips for successful primate trekking, and golden monkeys, visitors will be required to thoroughly wash their hands or sanitize before leaving.

  • Don’t wander away from your group members keep within the same area as you listen to the instructor or your ranger.
  • Maintain low voices as you approach the primates and away from them as you trek back.
