A 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, South Western Uganda. This is the shortest gorilla safari from Kampala or Entebbe, Uganda. Go gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National park, home to almost half of the world’s remaining population of the mountain gorillas.
The trip starts and ends in Kampala or Entebbe, a gateway into Uganda with gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park and a night stay on Lake Bunyonyi. This tour involves one day of travelling to Bwindi and another day on travelling back from Bwindi National Park with a day of gorilla tracking.
Brief Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi National Park.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 3: Transfer back to Entebbe.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
Your tour guide/driver shall meet you in the morning at 7am at your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala depending on where you will have stayed the previous night. He will give you briefing about the tour expectations and all the necessary preparations before embarking on the nine hours adventurous journey. You will have your first stopover at the equator line in Kayabwe where you cross from the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern Hemisphere. You will have photography and experimentation about the forces around the equator. You will proceed to Bwindi National park with and lunch break in Mbarara city. You will reach Bwindi National Park early in the evening and relax at the lodge in preparation for the memorable adventure. Dinner and overnight at Kiho Gorilla Safari Lodge/ Four Gorillas Lodge(Luxury) / Bakiga Lodge/ Bweza Lodge (Mid range) or similar
Day 2: Gorilla trekking adventure and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
This is the long awaited day! Get up at 6am and have an early breakfast which will be pre-ordered at night. With your parked lunch and gorilla trekking gear, you will then transfer at the park headquarters at 7am for the compulsory 7:30am pre tracking briefing from the park authorities. You will be briefed about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas get allocated the gorilla family for tracking. There are different gorilla families and each family is visited by a maximum of 8 people a day. You will then proceed to enter the forest at 8:30am to track the gorillas with the help of the ranger guides who will help in clearing the bushes following the path they expect the gorillas to be. This experience will take 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After spending an hour with the gorillas, descend back to the lodge for refreshment. You may go for a cultural walk to the Batwa community. Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala/ Entebbe
In the morning after a relaxed breakfast, you will set off your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe with en route stopover for lunch reaching in the evening. In case your flight is scheduled past 6pm, you can transfer to the airport to check in for the departure flight.
