A 5 Days Rwanda Primates Safari that takes you to two amazing national parks; Nyungwe Forest National Park and Volcanoes National Park. You will see the mountain gorillas and the chimpanzees on this trip. This tour will start and ends in Kigali with a visit to the most popular national parks in Rwanda. Volcanoes National park is a home to over 200 gorillas and also golden monkeys. Nyungwe forest national park is in the southern part of the park and is a home to over eight primate species including chimpanzees.

Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest
You will be picked from your hotel in Kigali at 8 am and set off to Nyungwe Forest National park with en-route visit to Nyanza Palace, Butare Museum, Murambi genocide museum reaching Nyungwe Forest early in the evening. Dinner and overnight at One&Only Nyungwe House/Nyungwe Top View Lodge/Chimpanzee Lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and Forest Canopy walk
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters and attend to a briefing from the park warden on do’s and don’ts while tracking chimps. You will then drive to Kyamudongo Forest where you will track the chimps in the forest with a view of other primates in the forest. You will stay one hour in presence of the chimpanzees once you encounter them. Return to the lodge for lunch and then in the afternoon, you will go for the scenic forest canopy walk where you will enjoy the view of the forest from atop. Dinner and overnight a One&Only Nyungwe House/Nyungwe Top View Lodge/Chimpanzee Lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes national park
In the morning, you will set off a scenic long to Volcanoes national park with en route stopover for lunch and photography reaching Volcanoes National park earlyin the evening. Dinner and overnight at Davinci gorilla lodge/ Le Bambou gorilla lodge(Deluxe)/Mountain gorilla view lodge(Luxury.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking and cultural walk
You will wake up early for breakfast and then transfer to the park headquarters by 7:30am to start the briefing about the dos and don’ts with the gorillas. You will then be allocated the gorilla tracking group and then the driver will drive you up to the starting point of the gorilla tracking group allocated and then ascend the forest for the memorable adventure. Once you see the gorillas, a maximum of one hour is allowed to stay with them before descending back to the starting point. On descent, you will meet your driver/guide and drive back to your Lodge for refreshment. In the evening, you may go for a cultural walk to Iby’wachu where you will be entertained in Banyarwanda traditional songs and learn more about their culture. Dinner and overnight stay at your Lodge.
Day 5: Golden Monkey tracking and transfer back to Kigali and Departure
In the morning after an early breakfast, you will gather at the park headquarters for the briefing before ascending the forest for golden monkey tracking where you will enjoy their play in the forest in search of food. On return, you will set off back to Kigali reaching early for shopping if necessary and later transfer to the airport to check-in for your departure flight.
