This 2 Days Rwanda Gorilla safari will start and end in Kigali in Rwanda. This will take you to Volcanoes National Park, one of the popular and most visited national parks in Rwanda with a size of 62 square miles. Volcanoes National park is the home to over 200 mountain gorillas, with 10 habituated gorilla families available for tracking.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National park
You will be picked from the Kigali international airport on arrival or hotel in Kigali by your guide/driver and be briefed about your tour. Time allowing, you will go for optional Kigali city tour to visit the genocide memorial, local markets among others. This will give you insight into Rwanda’s history, Rwanda’s tradition and you will appreciate the cleanliness of the city, Kigali being one of the cleanest cities in Africa. You will then set off a two hour scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park with view of the escarpments and virunga mountain ranges. Upon reaching the park, you will check in at your hotel and if still early, go for cultural walk to Ibyu’wachu cultural village where you will learn more about the Banyarwanda culture and tradition. Or you will visit Ellen DeGeneres campus and learn more about Dian Fossey’s conservation efforts of the mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Davinci Gorilla lodge(deluxe)/Mountain Gorilla view Lodge/ Five Volcanoes Boutique(Luxury) Virunga inn/ Bisate Lodge/ Sabinyo Silverback Lodge(high end).
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and transfer back to Kigali
Early morning at 6am, you will have your breakfast and then transfer to the park headquarters at 7am with you parked lunch and gorilla trekking gear. You will be briefed about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. You will also be allocated the gorilla family to track after being grouped in the maximum number of eight people per group. You will then head into the forest by 8:30 in search of these amazing apes. This will take 2-6 hours depending on the gorilla family allocated as well as their movement in their natural wild. After spending one hour in presence of the gorillas, descend back and your driver will transfer you back to Kigali reaching in the evening.
