Bwindi forest national park is priority tourist destination because of the famous mountain gorillas. The park lies south western Uganda shared between kabale, Kisoro and kanungu district. Distance covered is 530 km from Entebbe international airport to reach Bwindi forest. Fly Uganda has launched its scheduled flights to start by 2nd November to over come this problem that his been a hinderance to many tourists coming in to Uganda for a gorilla safari on a short holiday.
Bwindi forest is a bio diverse and has rich eco system which attracts a quite number of visitors from all around the world. Bwindi hosts half population of mountain gorilla, there are 16 habituated gorilla families open for gorilla tracking at the four different tracking sectors in Rushaga, Nkuringo, Ruhija and Buhoma. Besides gorillas Bwindi is a birders destination with 340 bird species including 23 endemic rift valley birds. Other activities to enjoy in Bwindi are nature and culture walks, biking among others.
